Translations, theme validation and correct bundle discounts

Translate section text per language in the editor

The theme editor now has a language switch next to Publish. Pick a language and you edit that language's version of the page: headings, texts, buttons, links and images of every section and block. Anything you have not translated yet shows your default-language text, so a page is never empty. "Translate this page" fills the fields that are still empty with an AI translation you can review and change. Translations go live when you publish, together with the rest of the page.

Flow Check: theme uploads are checked against published rules

Every theme you upload — as a ZIP, from the CLI or from GitHub — now runs through Flow Check, the same checker theme developers run with microcart theme check. A theme with errors (a template that does not parse, a missing section, unsafe markup) is refused and the upload lists each problem with its rule id, file and line. Warnings do not block the upload: they are listed with the fix, and your theme library shows each uploaded theme's counts. The code editor checks every save the same way and marks warnings in the gutter.

Themes can ship translations; the storefront header now follows the page language

Themes can now bring their own translations. A theme's texts follow the language a shopper is browsing in, and fall back to your store's default language, then English, when a text is not translated yet. Your own wording in Settings → Languages → Translate always wins over the theme's. The storefront header, announcement bar and footer now use the page's language too: an English page no longer shows Dutch header texts. In the theme editor, themes can label their settings in your admin language.

Themes can read cart, menus, localization and pagination

Theme templates can now read the same objects a Shopify theme reads: the shopper's cart (item count, lines and totals), the signed-in customer, your menus by handle, the store's languages, countries and markets, the page's pagination, search results and related products. Your current theme looks exactly the same: these are new objects a theme can choose to use, and nothing it already shows changes. Themes built for the next theme format also read a collection's products and filters this way, and render their own pagination.

Themes can define their own settings and colour schemes

Themes built on the new theme format now bring their own settings. In the theme editor, the Design tab shows exactly the settings your theme defines, grouped the way the theme groups them: text, colours, choices, sliders, switches, images, links and menus, each with a live preview on the page while you edit. Colour schemes are editable too: add a scheme, duplicate one, change any of its colours and pick it for a section; the canvas updates as you type. A scheme a section on the page still uses cannot be deleted. Settings the editor cannot edit yet are shown as a clearly marked card with their current value, so nothing is hidden. Save and Publish work as before. Themes on the current format keep the Design tab you know.

Bundle discounts are now charged at checkout

When a shopper adds one of your discount bundles to the cart, checkout now charges the same discounted price the product page and cart show. Before, the cart showed the bundle price but checkout charged the full price. The discount applies while the whole bundle is in the cart: remove one of its products and the other items go back to their normal price, in the cart and at checkout alike. Each order line records the bundle it was sold under and the discount it received.
