International selling, new themes and better visitor analytics

New editorial storefront theme bundles

Two new themes in your theme library offer image-led swimwear and department-store layouts. Both include editable homepage, collection and product templates. The platform now supports an opt-in editorial product gallery with accessible zoom, merchant-configured countdowns, and journal content in the new blog section. Reference imagery is replaceable, and store branding, products and purchase flows continue to use your own MicroCart data.

Shoppers pick their own country, currency and language

Every theme now carries a localization switcher in both the header and the footer: one button for the language, one for the market, showing the country and the currency it prices in ("Netherlands (EUR €)"). Picking a market switches the prices and the URL and is remembered for a year, so a returning visitor lands where they left off instead of being re-guessed from their IP address. Visitors arriving from a country you sell to through another market are offered that market in a popup — "Shop in Germany · EUR · Deutsch?" — which never redirects on its own and stays away for a month once dismissed. Prefer the quieter inline bar, or nothing at all? Markets → Localization now has the choice. You can also hide the switcher per theme section, in the header, the footer, or both.

Your sales breakdown, the way Shopify reads it

The sales breakdown on Analytics now runs the eight lines you already know: gross sales, discounts, sales reversals, net sales, shipping charges, return fees, taxes and total sales. Gross sales is excluding VAT, so tax is its own line instead of something subtracted at the bottom — and total sales is checked against your order totals to the cent. Cost of goods, gross profit and margin moved into their own block underneath, measured excluding VAT, which makes the margin a real margin rather than one flattered by the tax inside your prices. Three figures that used to go missing are in: a fee you withheld on a return is counted as income instead of vanishing, an order you cancelled after it was paid is reversed on the day you cancelled it, and a refund you issued as store credit or by hand finally carries a date. Tips are shown under the total, named, because a tip is money you were paid but it is not a sale.

Sell anywhere: every country, 44 currencies, your own market domain

A market can now cover any country in the world, not the eighteen European ones the form used to list. Search for a country by name or code, or add a whole region in one click — European Union, EEA, Benelux, DACH, the Nordics, UK & Ireland, North America or the rest of the world. Countries that already belong to another market are shown with the market holding them, so you can see why they are unavailable instead of running into an error when you save. The currency list grew from nine to forty-four, each with its name in your language. And every market except your primary one can now be given its own URL prefix (/nl) or its own domain (nl.yourshop.com), with the DNS record you need spelled out next to the field.

Sessions and conversion tracking on your storefront

Your storefront now records every visit, not just product page views. Analytics shows how many sessions your store had, where they came from (referrer, campaign, social network), which page they landed on, what device and country they were on, and how far each visit got: viewed, added to cart, reached checkout, completed checkout. Conversion rate is now measured against real sessions instead of product views, searches that returned nothing are listed for you, and traffic we recognise as a bot is filtered out by default so the numbers reflect actual shoppers. Everything is first-party and only recorded when a visitor accepts analytics cookies.
